A distributed file system (scale-out network-attached storage file system).

Introduction

GlusterFS has 3 options to manage data:

  1. GlusterFS can be used to combine distributed server storage spaces. If you have more than one server and you want to combine those two servers and the including drives into one combined data storage you can use GlusterFS.

  2. Also, GlusterFS can be used to replicate the data between to or more servers.

  3. You can also combine both volume types to have a distributed and replicated file system
